Real-Time Status
Radar Real-Time Data Status
This page is a diagnostic tool for checking the status of the SuperDARN real-time data feed links. The page is automatically generated by a program that checks the status of the real-time connections every five minutes. The program performs a number of tests:
- It looks at the time that the last data packet was received; if this is less than two minutes ago, the connection is up and working normally: GREEN
- It attempts to connect to the real-time data stream and download a packet of information; if this is successful, the problem is local to the APL system and can be recovered by restarting the data relays:YELLOW
- If no packet of data is received, the real-time data server has failed at the radar site or relay location, the problem requires attention at the radar site:ORANGE
- An attempt is made to "ping" the computer that is acting as data server; if this fails, the computer is down or no longer connected to the internet, this will most likely involve sending someone to the site:RED
